How To Install Your Database
When you are installing a database driven script, it helps to know how to install a database. Now we are going to assume that; A. You have your own domain name, hosting account, and cpanel. So what you do is find your cpanel first. This will be http://yourdomain.com/cpanel You will have to login with your login information. Once logged in, you need to locate the MySQL icon, normally a couple rows down in the middle... Press the icon, to be taken to the database creation page. From here, it's just a matter of filling out some forms, and clicking your mouse a couple times. First create your database, by giving it a name and pressing the create database button. Good, you just created your database, but the database won't work, without a user, so click the "Go Back" button. Now, create a user, with a password, and click the button. Good, now you've created your identity, the final step is to assign you to your database. So click the "Go Back" button, and you want to check the "ALL" box, to assign all permissions. You should see that the user has been added to the database with all permissions. Be sure to copy and paste this info into a text file, and save it for your script installation, along with your password. This is very important, otherwise you'll forget, and your script installation will be rejected because you forgot your password, or the database name, or the operator name. Be sure to logout of your cpanel, and go on about installing your script! |
